AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) which is non-toxic, colourless, and odourless; it is used in modern diesel engines to lower harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

Every diesel engine has a specific AdBlue consumption rate and there is a warning indicator in every vehicle which uses AdBlue to alert the driver of low levels which need topping up.
